What is a Milestone Schedule?
A simplified, high-level schedule showing only the key finish dates that matter to decision-makers — things like “Earthworks Complete,” “Platform Isolation Complete,” “Substation Energised,” or “Practical Completion.” It strips away the day-to-day detail of a full Level 3 or 4 schedule and leaves only the dates people actually need to track.
Why it matters
Not every audience needs (or wants) to see 2,000 activities. Site managers, client representatives, and executives across any industry often just need to know: are we going to hit the key dates or not? A well-built milestone schedule gives that answer in seconds, and it’s the version of your programme that ends up in board reports, monthly client updates, and project status meetings.
